The Steps in Figure 1 are:

1."Establish the Need" means to tell the purpose that the lesson is meant to accomplish.

2."Introduction" introduces the problem that needs to be solved, which for instance could be in the form of a story.

3."Identify the Skill Components" asks for the selection of behavior skills that are needed to solve the problem presented in the introduction and in other similar situations.

4."Model the Skill" demonstrates, by role-playing and by using the selected skill components, the correct behaviors necessary to solve the given problem.

5."Behavior Rehearsal" is the role-playing of similar problem situations. It is done for reasons to practice appropriate behaviors in order for the children to be ready to use the skills instantly.

6."Practice" refers to employing appropriate behaviors to situations that are outside the inner-circle of school and family.

7,"Independent Use" refers to employing appropriate behaviors to situations that are outside the inner circle of school and family.

8."Continuation" is a reminder to use appropriate behaviors at all occasions and throughout the entire life.
